If it seems like only the British like hot weather, then Jaan by Kirk Westaway is certainly revelling in it as its titular chef fills his Michelin-starred dining tables with bountiful English summer produce in a brand new seasonal menu. The Briton has taken the big step of moving away from fine French cooking to celebrate his own roots, and the result is a thoughtful reinterpretation of classic British fare with a personal twist. Enjoy fish and chips re-invented as a tartlet of cod brandade; summer beans in an artful salad; and signature salt marsh lamb sourced from Northern Wales. And what better way to finish an English repast than with Devon Cream Tea and Battenberg Cake?
