Fashion forward in Singapore

Louis Vuitton's first physical fashion show is a taste of more to come.

IT was over in a flash - and with a big splash, literally - but Louis Vuitton's first physical catwalk this week was a clear signal to the fashionable set that they can finally dress up and have somewhere to go.

Even as heavy rain poured through the open oculus skywell of the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands, and a cleaning crew feverishly mopped to contain the mini flood pooling on the circular stage while umbrellas were passed out to guests in the first row - spirits were hardly dampened in what was perhaps the biggest glamour night in Singapore since Covid-19 struck.

For just 19 minutes on Tuesday evening - give or take an hour or more just to get in and out of the museum in accordance to safe distancing and screening measures - 41 unmasked models went through their paces as the Louis Vuitton Women's Spring/Summer 2021 Spin-Off show took flight.
