Here's where Singapore's Little Japan is
SOME of the hottest restaurants to get into in Singapore aren't in the familiar enclaves of Telok Ayer or Keong Saik, nor do they wield Michelin stars. Instead, they are hole-in-the-wall Japanese eateries that dot the street-level of the ageing Orchard Plaza shopping centre - creating an unlikely food hub that has been making waves in the local food circles.
From seven-seater Japanese-European bistros to speakeasy sake bars - mostly run by Japanese chefs whose personalities count as much as the food - the former haunt of Japanese expatriates is now a revitalised little Japan for predominantly Singaporean diners.
