Kafka Reinterpreted
One of literature's towering figures, Franz Kafka wrote surreal stories of terror and alienation that have influenced generations of readers. Tales such as The Metamorphosis and The Castle have now been weaved into a brand new work by two of Singapore's leading art companies, Nine Years Theatre and T.H.E. Dance Company. Titled Cut Kafka!, it blends elements of theatre and dance to explore the writer's favourite devices and themes, such as the individual vs state, and the struggle to belong. In Mandarin with English surtitles.
Cut Kafka! Is part of Esplanade's Huayi Festival, and plays at the Esplanade Theatre Studio till March 4. Tickets available from Sistic.
