New year, new challenges? Some say: 'Bring it on'

IT'S the new year - a time for making resolutions and getting a fresh start. There's no time like now to move out of one's comfort zone, whether it's because of one's circumstances, or a feeling of restlessness or a desire for new challenges. In tomorrow's BT Lifestyle, we meet several enterprising individuals who have taken the plunge into new careers in different industries, or started new business ventures to address needs and issues arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Among others, we meet a director of a music conservatory who switched from teaching music to heading a new school teaching hospitality; a former startup alumnus who now runs a digital clinic for men suffering from erectile dysfunction issues; a logistics expert who pivoted to furniture rental; and a mumpreneur who branched out into silk bedding products to alleviate pandemic-induced sleepless nights.

For art lovers, we bring you a short-list of the best shows and activities to maximise your time at the week-long Singapore Art Week. And if you want to look at art of a glittery kind, luxury watch and jewellery brand Cartier launches a new exhibition of vintage pieces to covet.

We also check out ADDA, the maiden venture of the former chef of The Song of India, Manjunath Mural. It's a spicy addition to the local Indian dining scene.
