Fellowship and happy golfing
THIS is Zyfas Medical Company's first year of competing in the BT Corporate Golf League, and after two rounds of scoring 91 and 99, they are sitting in 11th position. In addition to team captain Adrian Chew (handicap 10.3), other members include Mohamed Tahir (11.2), Chua Lian Ho (10.8), Chin Soon Chye (5.8), Wong Yik Mun (8.8), Au Sen Min (11.6), Michael Sng (13.1), Julia Johari (21.2), Yusof Musa (11) and Leow Kim Keat (11.3).
One of the reasons for including a team this year was that team member Mr Tahir played as a guest during the final round at Sentosa Golf Club last year. "The fellowship and the happy golfing was the reason for our signing this year since me and my wife play golf regularly," explains Mr Tahir, adding: "After two rounds this year, I have enjoyed the happy feeling after the game among my friends and the other companies' players. I had only tasted the dinner as I was fasting during the last two games and could not enjoy the lunch and the halfway brunches."
Team Zyfas have enjoyed the two courses and the overall organisation of the League. As to which team has the edge this year? Mr Mohamed Tahir says: "We don't know much about the other companies but I notice we have a longest hitter - some 280 metres - from Bank of Singapore (OCBC) and I think this team really has a good anchor."
