Festive Surprise
Dylan Tan
Any time of the year is a good time to snack on bak kwa and we are definitely having some from Lim Chee Guan this Mid-Autumn Festival. Yes, you read that right. The local BBQ meat specialist is celebrating its 80th anniversary at the same time and to mark the occasion, it is NOT releasing bak kwa-flavoured mooncakes (thankfully). Instead, Lim Chee Guan is sticking to what it knows best and issuing a special gift box that features the savoury meat sliced into smaller-than-usual squares, then packed individually into containers like mooncakes. The packaging itself is cute and boasts a rabbit motif to commemorate the festive season. It'll make a nice surprise as a gift. Only 1,200 of these gift boxes are being made, so don't wait too long.
Each box costs S$48.80 and contains 540g of bak kwa.
