From Film To Stage
Helmi Yusof
Apichatpong Weerasethakul is one of the world's most acclaimed arthouse filmmakers. His 2010 film Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives nabbed the prestigious 2010 Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or prize, making him the first Southeast Asian filmmaker to win it.
Now the Thai filmmaker is expanding his practice with his first theatre production Fever Room, which combines image projection and live performance. The multi-sensory work reconfigures the boundaries of cinema and theatre as it invites audiences to parse the nature of dreams and memory, ambiguity and illumination. The work is brought to you by TheatreWorks Curator Academy.
Fever Room plays at the Victoria Theatre from now till Sunday at various times. Tickets from Sistic.
