MUCH-LOVED musician Iskandar Ismail died of cancer on Nov 1 last year. But the music community continues to mourn the loss of a man whose impact on the Singapore music scene was far-reaching and long-lasting.
Last Friday night, dozens of entertainers - from the very young to the very established - came together for a free concert in memory of the composer, conductor and music director. More than 1,000 people turned up for the event at the Esplanade Concert Hall, organised by Iskandar's close friends Phan Ming Yen, Florence Tan and Jeremiah Choy.
