Long before hipsters ruled the cafe scene, Singapore already had a traditional coffee culture characterised by low prices, thick strong brews and an insider vocabulary.

The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre celebrates this culture with Kossip, a four-day event that looks at the development of coffee in Singapore and how it evolved to become a lifestyle.

There will be workshops that teach you how to make a good cup of Singapore coffee; a tea station that explores the different types of leaves as well as the journey of tea from China to Singapore; and a look at the different kinds of biscuits we often enjoy with our brew of choice.
