Craft Kingdom
Japan's Ishikawa prefecture is home to all manner of exquisite craft and food, and it's put some of its best on show at its first-ever Singapore pop-up store in Ngee Ann City. A one-stop shop and tourism booth at the same time, the objective is to draw more visitors to Ishikawa now that the Hokuriku Shinkansen has reduced travelling time from Tokyo to 2.5 hours. Gold leaf is one of its major products, which you can find on everything from chocolate and yokan (red bean paste) to tableware. It's also known for its porcelain and lacquerware, and the pop up will showcase selected Yamanaka lacquerware cups and Mizuhiki earrings. You'll also find small dishes with the Merlion image that were made in Ishikawa, if you want a souvenir that also reminds you of home.
The Ishikawa Prefecture Pop-Up Store is located at #B2-25A, Takashimaya Shopping Centre.
