IF YOU’RE looking for the latest hot restaurant to check out, you might want to go beyond the trendy dining enclaves of Amoy Street or Tanjong Pagar and head to one of the newest hotels in town instead.

The local food and beverage (F&B) scene is hotting up, with a slew of star chef tie-ups and original concepts popping up as fast as the new hotels that have been opening in the city in the past few months. While collaborations between hotels and celebrity chefs are not new – the spate of new restaurants opening in Singapore is opening up more choices for discerning food-lovers than ever before.

In Friday’s (Nov 3) edition of BT Lifestyle, read about the eateries to add to your dining list, and how the hotel industry has shifted from the generic all-day-dining restaurants to innovative dining concepts as a major source of revenue besides accommodation.

Elsewhere, get set for some serious bedside reading as we review a selection of Booker Prize-nominated titles including Prophet Song by Paul Lynch and Paul Harding’s This Other Eden. In Design, we chat with Piero Lissoni, the acclaimed architect and designer of contemporary furniture.

And in Dining, we check out one of the latest hotel-linked eateries in town, Araya, and find a charming Chilean hideaway at the new Mondrian in Duxton Hill.

Catch up on the latest in Lifestyle with Friday’s issue of BT.
