In the lap of lux(e)ury
LUXURY watches and fine wines paired with a sumptuous meal sound like the perfect formula for a night of opulence. And that's exactly what guests at the recent BT Luxe wine dinner held at ION Art were treated to.
The four-course meal began with canapés like Spanner Crab Remoulade Tart and Lime Meringue complemented by Pierro Chardonnay Margaret River 2013. The starters were a Coriander Spiced Smoked Trout Mi-Cuit, a Hokkaido Scallop Ceviche, and Orange Fluid Gel Baby Leaves & Pickled Beetroot, paired with a Pierre Labet Meursalt Tillets 2012.
For the entrée, diners chose between a Ballotine of Corn-fed Chicken with Roasted Root Vegetables, Baby Potatoes and a Natural Sherry Jus paired with a Merricks Garagiste Pinot Noir 2012, or the Orange Miso Glazed Atlantic Codfish with Asparagus & Beans Ragout and Yuzu Beurre Blanc with Caviar. The latter was served alongside a Byron Santa Barbara Pinot Noir 2012. The dinner finished off with a Valrohna Guanduja Chocolate Mousse with a Passionfruit Coulis and Berries, alongside a Remoissenet P&F Morey Saint Senis 2012. All the wines were selected from The Business Times Wine Challenge - CEOs' Choice of top labels in the last three years.
Special presentations included a multimedia showcase of designer watches, a talk by wine expert Maximilien Fedkiw, and live music.
The BT Luxe wine dinner was jointly organised by The Business Times and ION Orchard.
