IN SINGAPORE, CELEBRATING THE Mid-Autumn Festival isn’t complete without Raffles Hotel Singapore’s signature Champagne Truffle Snow-Skin Mooncakes, with its tender, chewy snow skin wrapped around delicately scented lotus paste and a lovely white chocolate champagne truffle within.
This classic creation from the 90’s still takes pride of place in Raffles Hotel Singapore’s annual mooncake collection, even as its chefs continue to raise the bar with new flavours each year.
For 2022, Raffles Hotel Singapore marks its 135th anniversary and in celebration, its range of mooncakes will be presented in an elegant ivory box embellished with intricate details of the historic hotel’s famous facade. It makes for a unique collectible that can be reused long after its sweet contents have been enjoyed.
This year, mooncake lovers can look forward to 2 new snow-skin creations. Brass Lion Butterfly Pea Gin with Pandan Mooncake is a tribute to Raffles Hotel’s anniversary, and is a collaboration with the homegrown Brass Lion Distillery. Floral flavours of butterfly pea gin are infused into this confection, with additional notes of pandan and lemongrass.
Baileys Chocolate Truffle Snow-Skin Mooncake combines the richness of coffee and chocolate, intertwined with the velvety flavours of Irish cream.
Besides the perennial Champagne Truffle Snow-Skin Mooncakes, enhanced with a glass of Billecart-Salmon Champagne Brut Reserve, there are 3 more favourites making a welcome return this year.
