IT CAN’T be easy being a Moroccan restaurant in Singapore. First, there’s the mistaken identity, like when people equate you with Middle Eastern food (it is until it isn’t). Or confuse the national spice mix ras el hanout with Liam Neeson’s baddie character in Batman Begins (okay, it’s Ra’s al Ghul). And there are only so many times you can correct someone’s pronunciation of chlada, khizou mchermel, briouates and taktouka before you throw in your dish towel and tell them to go eat a kebab somewhere else.
