Furniture Finds

Skip the malls and shop for furniture at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts's annual after2 exhibition instead, which showcases creative works by second and third year students from its 3D Design Programme. For industry partners and market leaders, this is where they can identify and work with up-and-coming designers. For general visitors, it's a chance to see the creative ideas of design students, and pick up some one-of-a-kind pieces at the same time. Many of the original and full-scale furniture prototypes will be on sale. For example, check out the Timeless Stool, which is made of nyatoh solid wood in oiled finish and shaped like an hourglass to remind people of the virtue of punctuality. And if you're starved of space, there's the double duty Kustool which has storage space in its seat.
