ON A DAY When most of the contenders - probably fatigued by an early (7.40am) start and having to play more than 18 holes because of the third-round lightning delay - self-destructed, Sergio Garcia reigned supreme.
So the only real excitement on the final day of the US$1 million SMBC Singapore Open yesterday was that the world No 10 Spaniard and Masters champion, nicknamed "El Nino", swept away his rivals in a manner least expected.
