THIS year's Singapore Writers Festival (SWF) will feature a diversity of topics, champion multilingual literature and go beyond the written genre into performance in more than 300 events from Oct 30 to Nov 8.
Curated around the theme "Island of Dreams", the festival will be split into five tracks to cater to wider audience interests.
One of this year's firsts is a South-east Asia focus: a spotlight on Indonesia is headlined by poet Goenawan Mohamad, a first-ever collaboration with The Esplanade sees Singapore writers and musicians working on original compositions, and an overnight immersive experience of 24 text-based performances presented over 12 hours and curated by Checkpoint Theatre's Huzir Sulaiman.
