Golf has the pulling power for money

IT WAS ironic that the sport of golf was used by other sports, clubs and corporates here to raise money, when the local golf association itself sought other ways to boost the size of its coffers.

It was only about two years ago when the new Singapore Golf Association (SGA) committee was formed, that it realised the past follies and organised a charity event that helped raise close to S$400,000.

It is timely that the SGA has recently engaged Golf Business Advisory Services, a specialist independent golf industry advisory firm based in Melbourne, to produce the first Singapore Golf Industry Report.
