Good green fun
The Maserati Ghibli Diesel is the Italian luxury brand's first diesel-engined car.
TO some, the Maserati Ghibli Diesel may be just another Ghibli with an alternative engine but this turbodiesel version of Maserati's baby sedan is actually special for two reasons.
Until now, the Maserati brand has been synonymous with powerful petrol engines. So this makes the new Ghibli variant the first diesel-powered Maserati in history, complete with a hint of eco-friendliness
Equally noteworthy is that the Ghibli Diesel is the cheapest Maserati you can buy. That is hardly a dubious distinction because it is far from entry-level - the Ghibli Diesel with its 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel is nearly identical to the petrol-powered Ghibli 3.0 V6 (simply called the Ghibli) in terms of trim level, if not better in some ways.
