DEEMED by fans as nothing more than a dreamy 13-year-old - too immature and naive for the brutal world of HBO's Game of Thrones - Sansa Stark, the oldest daughter of the well-loved Stark family, is hardly considered a fan favourite; though actress Sophie Turner, who plays the role, certainly disagrees.

In season one, Sansa's lofty dreams of marrying Prince Charming and living happily ever after in a time of political turmoil had unwittingly led to her manipulation by a rival family, the Lannisters, and the ultimate beheading of her father, Eddard "Ned" Stark (Sean Bean) - a plot point that till this day still evokes explosions of fury on the Internet amongst die-hard fans of the show.

In spite of all this, however, 18-year-old Turner remains a firm supporter of her character. "Fans have been very critical because of their loyalty to other characters that she may have betrayed," she explains. "But I think this season, she's definitely going to be one of those characters that you would root for and actually believe that she can seek revenge or manipulate the people you want her to manipulate."
