The next best thing to saying that acclaimed chef Massimo Bottura is opening a restaurant in Singapore is that Gucci Osteria - the Florence eatery that he set up with the Italian fashion label - will host a pop-up here for five weeks starting from May 1 at The Arts House. While the maestro chef of the three Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana will not be in Singapore, the original head chef of Gucci Osteria Karime Lopez will be, and she will be recreating signatures such as chef Bottura's The Crunchy Part of the Lasagne and her own Taka Bun - sweet sour pork belly sandwiched in mantou buns. The Arts House was chosen for its historic value and connection with the arts, which parallels the Palazzo della Mercanzia in Florence where Gucci Osteria is.

Gucci Osteria runs from May 1 to June 2. Lunch is priced at S$128 (four courses) and S$228 (seven courses) and dinner at S$278 (seven courses). For reservation details go to savour.sg/gucciosteria.
