With WOAH!, you can have your cake - no, ice cream - and eat it too. The locally produced brand prides itself on being Singapore's first protein ice cream. It claims to be high in protein, calcium and iron, but low in fat, carbohydrates, calories and sugar. Founder Edward Foo came up with the recipe when he found a lack of appealing protein food choices for his mum who suffered from leukemia. Ice cream ranked high on his list to experiment with, since most people love it. WOAH's key ingredient is L-Leucine, a powerful branched-chain amino acid, which stimulates protein synthesis and builds muscle mass. The higher protein content is also said to help in body tissue repair and reduces the chance of muscle degeneration. It comes in six flavours - Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Strawberry, Vanilla, Peanut Butter and Cookies & Cream.
