Hard-hitting double bill
WHAT happens when a country decides that there's no more land for its old people?
In Cultural Medallion winner and playwright Han Lao Da's Floathouse 1001 - his futuristic tale of a group of unhappy people who are unfairly treated - the play sees Singapore placing old people in pods that are set adrift at sea.
When they die, the pods sink to the ocean floor. But naturally, as in any dystopian tale, there are a few rebels - and three elderly folk in the pods take things into their own hands before they are driven half-mad being cooped up in the enclosed space.
