Swapping scalpels for clubs
MEMBERS of this team are based at either one of the Mount Elizabeth branded facilities - Mount Elizabeth Hospital or Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. Other participants in the team are from various other organisations, and according to team captain Dr Kelvin Loh, who is also chief executive officer of Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, they have had interesting questions for the doctors. "In turn we have shared stories about novel treatments that can be life-changing," he offers.
In addition to Dr Loh, other team members include Philip Jeng, Han Fook Kwang, Ravi Velloor, Dr Toh Choon Lai, Dr Li Yung Hua, Dr Chua Wei Han, Dr Denis Nyam, Dr L Jayaram, Dr Lim Jit Kheng, Dr Chuang Hsuan-Hung and Dr Peng Yeong Pin. The team this year has enjoyed themselves, bonding with other players over the five rounds and playing on some premier golf courses. Says Dr Loh, "This year, we got the chance to play at some of the best courses in Singapore. The TMCC Tampines leg was especially good for us. This league has provided a tremendous opportunity to make new friends." He adds: "Our strategy for the final round at Sentosa is to relax and enjoy . . . when you do that golf scores improve!"
