THERE were almost 14 working adults supporting one elderly Singaporean in the 1970s. Fast forward almost five decades later, and the ratio has dwindled to about five people supporting an elderly person as the resident population has grown older with more elderly and fewer younger people.
Yorelle Kalika, founder of Active Global Caregivers realised that providing sufficient health care to cater to the needs of the ageing population will become a pressing concern.
