Here to prove she's no 'one-hit wonder'
WHEN German-born artist Stefanie Hauger took home US$35,000 after winning the 2013 UOB Painting of the Year title for Singapore and South-east Asia, the art world buzzed with criticism about the judges' decision.
Since Hauger had started her career as a full-time artist only in 2011, some questioned whether her winning work, Space Odyssey, deserved to win over the works of more prominent artists, such as Indonesian painter Suroso Isur.
But now, just months after the award was announced in November, Hauger is putting on her maiden solo exhibition,New Horizons.
