The working crowd looking for a quick drink beyond coffee, tea or starfruit juice just got a new option at Marina One's Honeymill - where a robot prepares your choice of honey-centric drinks without giving you a bad attitude or the wrong change. The patented "honeybot" took nine months to develop and is programmed to recognise 20 different kinds of honey, from clover to eucalyptus or linden. It's the brainchild of owner Sophia Lim, who wanted to revitalise her honey distribution business in a challenging retail scene. Choose your honey, pick your toppings such as honey or coffee jelly, and the arm-shaped robot gets to work creating your drink. There's, of course, a retail section so you can pick up some new-to-market Italian honey creme, which tastes like a very creamy caramelly spread, in hazelnut or blueberry flavours. It's meant to go with breadsticks or lavosh crackers sold in the store but we reckon there's no better match for this than ice cream or pancakes.
