House of Horrors

Horror has rarely been more respected than it is now. Movies like A Quiet Place, Get Out and Hereditary are giving an often-maligned genre a new critical sheen. The trend carries over onto TV with shows like American Horror Story and Stranger Things.

But Netflix's The Haunting Of Hill House surely takes the prize for the most complex and compelling TV horror series of 2018. You're scared out of your wits, but also deeply, inconsolably heartbroken watching a family fall apart because of what a house is doing to them.

The show is so good that even the bent-neck lady, the tall man, the zombie in the cellar and every other ghost in the house seems to have their own story to tell. - Helmi Yusof
