How to live better
AS mental well-being takes a higher priority in our lives, the question at large is just how exactly do we achieve that? Authors Kieran Setiya and Dean Rickles tried to articulate this in two aptly named books released in 2022: Life is Hard and Life is Short, respectively. Both were written at the height of the pandemic, when it was unclear what the future held for humanity.
As fears subside and normality returns, the concept of what happens next is still in our minds. In tomorrow’s BT Lifestyle, we take a leaf out of these books in our feature on how to live more meaningfully in the face of life’s challenges.
In Design, we visit an architect’s renovated 40-year-old HDB flat, which he transforms into a “terrace house” of his own design, inspired by his childhood home but also with sustainability in mind. Take a look at his work, which incorporates an open plan design and fewer materials for a down-to-earth liveable space.
Look out also for some new watches and a round-up of the best new art exhibitions in town, including Joo Choon Lin’s solo at Singapore Art Museum.
And for a change of pace after all the Chinese New Year feasting, discover some new flavours of Lebanese cuisine at the new Ummi Beirut. Get all this and more in Friday’s edition of The Business Times.
