1997: Eric Khoo's ensemble-cast heartland drama 12 Storeys became the first Singapore film to be invited for the Un Certain Regard section.

2003: Tan Pin Pin's Moving House selected for the Kodak Emerging Filmmakers Showcase.

2005: Eric Khoo's Be With Me - a 93-minute drama with less than three minutes of dialogue and the first local film to explicitly feature a lesbian relationship in the plot - opened the Directors' Fortnight.
