Hurrah at the Yarra for Sean Lee
Promising 13-year-old finishes runner-up in Melbourne, giving a fillip to SGA junior programme.
THE test of the success of a programme is whether it produces results. Going by that yardstick, the Singapore Golf Association's (SGA) Junior Camp is on the right track. There has been an overall improvement in standards among the boys and girls, and a special buzz among the youngsters who meet whenever there is a training camp or a competition.
With encouraging parents in tow, the children enjoy these sessions, treasuring the rare occasions because they give them a break from their school schedules.
A great fillip for the programme came in the form of 13-year-old Sean Lee's clinching the runner-up spot in the Under-14 boys' event at the Victoria Junior Masters at the Yarra Yarra Golf Club in Melbourne this week.
