SIPPING CHAMPAGNE, catching up on work or the latest movies are what most people do on a long haul flight. No one really thinks about stretching or moving certain muscle groups that can become stiff over long hours of sitting.

Bernice Liu, senior physiotherapist at Sengkang General Hospital says "it is good to keep the body moving once every one to two hours to promote movement and circulation to the body and the limbs."

Dr Liu recommends these exercises, some of which can be done without having to leave the seat. Others can be done in the galley or along the aisle, during a bathroom break or simply when it is safe to do so.
