RESENTFUL about being told to go back to the office? Even though your employer has installed fully-stocked pantries and sound-proof rooms for lunchtime shut-eye? While much has been done to design offices to make them more attractive for workers to return to their cubicles, maybe they could also take a cue from some boutique creative studios that have turned their workplaces into inspirational spaces instead.

In Friday’s edition of BT Lifestyle, we peek into the offices of the award-winning floral and landscape studio This Humid House and interior designers Monocot and Cream Pie, to see how they have overturned conventional workplace design in favour of environments that express the aesthetic and personality of each studio.

In Health, November is Diabetes Awareness Month, and we take a closer look at the chronic disease that is affecting more people across all age groups. With one in 14 Singapore residents suffering from the affliction, we speak to an endocrinologist about the disease, treatments and preventive action we can take.

Meanwhile in Arts, the annual UOB Painting of the Year results are in, and we spotlight the winners of this prestigious art competition. And in Dining, we turn 27 Degrees West to Orchard Road, for a taste of casual Indian dining by celebrity chef Varun Inamdar.

For all this and more, don’t miss Friday’s issue of BT.
