Jackie Chan out of place in The Foreigner

The vigilante fantasy cum political drama is like two distinct movies, with Chan's character sticking out like a true foreigner.

THE Foreigner, starring Pierce Brosnan and Jackie Chan, and produced by Chan, is a glum contemporary thriller set in the United Kingdom.

It begins with a London bombing. Claiming responsibility is an Irish terrorist cell.

Brosnan is Irish Deputy Minister Liam Hennessy. A former IRA commander now working for the British government to uphold the tenuous peace accord in Northern Ireland, he is tasked with using his contacts to ferret out the bombers' identities and motives.
