Jamie Oliver visit has fans out in full force
NAKED chef Jamie Oliver caused a huge stir when he made his highly anticipated visit to Singapore yesterday. The British celebrity chef arrived here in the late morning after a 13-hour flight from London, and made his first public visit to his eight-month-old restaurant, Jamie's Italian Singapore at Vivocity. The 38-year-old met with his local team, business partners, media and gamely took pictures and autographed cookbooks for the over 200 eager fans who had gathered outside the restaurant to catch a glimpse of their idol. The charming celebrity chef then made a quick visit to Maxwell Market to try local dishes such as chicken rice before catching an evening flight to Perth, Australia, where he will be launching his Ministry of Food Australia programme to inspire inexperienced cooks to make meals from scratch.
