Japan drawing up national strategy to tackle dementia

PRIME Minister Shinzo Abe announced on Thursday that the government will map out a new national strategy to address dementia in which all ministries and agencies jointly tackle issues related to the disease and conduct a nationwide survey targeting 10,000 people to help develop effective treatments.
"We will map out a new strategy to accelerate the nation's measures to deal with dementia," Mr Abe said during an international conference on dementia in Tokyo. "The government will work as one to support the lives (of dementia patients and their families)."
