Judge her on her art, not her age - of 91
WHEN presented with the opportunity to interview 91-year-old British artist Doris Malcomson, one wonders what to focus on. Her age, or her art?
Art, of course, one can imagine her muttering under her breath, with a likely roll of her eyes. "Once people recover from the shock of finding that I am not absolutely moronic at the age of 91, but totally normal, I trust I shall be judged on my art, not my age," she replies drily. Because she is a little hard of hearing, she chose to reply by email.
But it's hard not to be awed by the fact that she still exhibits in her age. Ms Malcomson moved to Singapore just last year because of family, but visited Singapore back in the 1950s. She has exhibited mostly overseas, in London especially, and this is her first solo exhibition in Singa…
