BIG EYES is a tale based on a true story of an incredible Big Lie - a case of art fraud so staggering in scope and almost beyond comprehension - that raises interesting questions about the blurry line between art and commerce.

The film, directed by Tim Burton and written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, doesn't come up with all the answers, but it does offer a fascinating glimpse of an instance where force of personality can subjugate everything before it - even the truth.

The strange case of Walter and Margaret Keane played out at a time when the American public, growing in affluence and in search of ways to display their wealth, were receptive to different ideas about art.
