The stalwart luxury resort, The Datai Langkawi, is halfway through a mega US$60 million refurbishment and recently unveiled images of its new look for a glimpse of what's to come. The 10-month renovation which started last September is its most extensive since the resort opened 25 years ago. Spearheading the project is Didier Lefort of Paris-based design studio DL2A, who worked with the renowned Australian architect Kerry Hill on the original design in 1993. Already known for its luxuriously landscaped resort set within a 10-million-year-old virgin rainforest and Datai Bay, you can expect a whole new experience when it's ready.
