Masterclass.com is an online class series conducted by some of the most famous men and women in the world. Each of these experts take you through some 20 classes that are between 15 to 20 minutes each, during which they explain the finer points of their craft, complete with worksheets and exercises at the end of each class.

We tried the Margaret Atwood class on writing and Aaron Sorkin class on screenwriting - and loved them. We didn't enjoy the Judd Apatow class on comedy because he appeared less than prepared. For US$180 a year, you get access to all the classes. Other teachers include Marc Jacobs on fashion, Frank Gehry on design and Garry Kasparov on chess.
