    IT IS often said that one should pick the right boss, not the right job. While that is generally sound advice, we don't always have the luxury to choose our managers, especially if we are new to the workforce. But nevertheless, we can still choose how we engage with our supervisors to ensure a smooth working relationship.

    Managing up is an art that is hardly talked about or taught in business school, but it can make or break one's career. In fact, the ability to manage all types of people - especially those in authority - can greatly benefit you outside of work, making it a valuable skill indeed.
