LIVERPOOL'S desire to travel to Asia for a long-awaited pre-season tour have been hampered by the coronavirus pandemic, but the English football club's top executives are aware of the size and scale of the fan base in this part of the world and intend to visit the region soon.

Billy Hogan, the chief executive officer (CEO) of the English Premier League club, said in a recent interview with The Business Times: "Over the last couple of years, we haven't had the chance to come to Asia, so we are working on a plan, hopefully to come back soon."

Former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish, a Scotsman who scored 172 goals in 515 appearances as a player, weighed in on this too, noting that the club is aware of the immense support from their fans in Asia.
