HOW do you design a home to accommodate the needs of a multi-generational family? If you’re building from scratch, you could allocate a space for grandparents that would give them plenty of privacy yet easy access to the common spaces.

But for this family, who has been living in the house for 30 years and demolishing it is not an option, that’s where the challenge begins.

Such was the task that faced SKEW Collaborative, a design consultancy founded by Darren Zhou, H. Koon Wee and Eunice Seng.
