IN 3 Days to Kill, the CIA assassin played by Kevin Costner looks like he's suffering terribly while sleepwalking through Paris, coughing desperately and blowing his nose before blowing away his enemies.

That's because he's terminally ill, so ill in fact that on more than one occasion he collapses at the feet of a potential victim just as he's about to plug him between the eyes.

This is his fate - to kill or be killed. It's all Ethan Renner (Costner) has known for the past 32 years as a high-calibre hit man. "When you work for the agency it becomes your whole life," he sighs. Not any longer. Ethan wants out, now that his medical report has come back negative and he can't get rid of the crippling pain in his head.
