WITH four Porsche Macan variants available, you would think the entry-level option would be selling like hot kuchen. But no, this stylish German compact crossover is most sought after with the more expensive 3.0 V6 engine rather than the cheaper 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine.
Besides these two, there are also the fuel-sipping Macan Diesel and top-of-the-line Macan Turbo with a 3.6-litre V6.
From the price list, the appeal of the Macan S is not immediately apparent; it costs S$40,000 more than the entry-level Macan 2.0. But from the specifications sheet, it gets clearer. The V6 biturbo engine produces 340 hp and 460 Nm, with zero to 100 kmh dispatched in 5.4 seconds.
