WITH the growing number of first-class golf courses in and around areas such as Danang, Dalat, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam is quickly becoming a heavyweight in the regional golf tourism market. There are now around 40 courses in the country, with many more expected to be built over the coming years.
One of the companies spearheading golf course development in the country is the Hanoi-based publicly-listed company FLC Group, which is looking to build 20 golf courses in Vietnam by 2020.
Explains Luu Duc Quang, chairman of Biscom Golf Club Management JSC which manages FLC Group's golf courses: "In the next five to 10 years the number of golfers will increase significantly and FLC has invested in both hotels and golf in the hospitality market."
