WALK into most major shopping malls or office complexes in Singapore and chances are pretty high that one of the main tenants will be Fitness First.
The fitness chain has been busy expanding its footprint in the Lion City over the last 15 years, ever since its first gym was launched at Paragon Shopping Centre in Orchard Road back in 2003. Today, it has more than 48,000 members here who visit its 20 clubs over three million times each year.
Just last month, Fitness First opened a new 1,115 square-metre gym at SingPost Centre beside Paya Lebar MRT station. This gym is the first in Singapore to offer the "Boom" class - a 45-minute high-intensity full-body music-driven workout that's inspired by boxing.
