MUSIC acts typically don't start touring unless they have a new album to plug, but American alternate rock trio Blonde Redhead are not adhering to that. The band, consisting of lead singer Kazu Makino and twin brothers Simone and Amedeo Pace, had announced in March that they had finished a new album, but have since been mum about the title and release details.

They will, however, be touring Asia, making stops in Taiwan, the Philippines, China and Singapore, where they will be performing as part of the line-up for urban music festival Hostess Club Weekender.

Over the phone, drummer and singer Simone Pace guarantees their fans will be in for a surprise. "We've been working on the new album, and we'll be playing some of the new songs on this tour. It's sort of a promotional tour and preview."
