THE two clubs that have won the last three English Premier League (EPL) trophies lock horns on Sunday in what promises to be a riveting and bruising battle, with both Manchester City and Liverpool eager to lay down an early marker on the destiny of the championship.
It was 18 months ago when City dramatically pipped the Reds to the trophy by a solitary point - 98 points to 97 - on the final day of the campaign.
Far from being deflated, Liverpool rebounded in spectacular style last season as they steamrolled past nearly every team before them from start to finish.
